Urban Circuit 2022 Brazil I Localizing the SDGs: leaving no one and no place behind

We were present at the Urban Circuit, an initiative of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), one of the agencies of the United Nations System.

Our panel, which had as its theme “The role of citizen innovation laboratories for the localization of the SDGs”, featured participants from different organizations to present experiences of citizen laboratories in different contexts and, based on reflection on their practices, advance the discussion on continued citizen participation. How does citizen political behavior emerge, re-emerge and/or sustain itself? How can the concepts of collaboration, experimentation, and open innovation guide the outlining of guidelines for the continued engagement of citizens with the development of localized solutions to issues of global interest?

Urban Circuit 2022 had as its theme “Localizing the SDGs: Leaving no one and no place behind” and the events were organized around five thematic lines: Know, Plan, Participate & Innovate, Finance & Implement, Monitor & Evaluate.
